Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know about temporary email and tempail.co.

What is tempail.co?

tempail.co is a free, instant temporary email service. You get a disposable email address the moment the page loads — with no signup, no forms, and nothing to install.

How does it work?

tempail.co uses the Mail.tm API to create a real email account for you automatically. Incoming messages are fetched live from Mail.tm and shown in your inbox. Everything is powered directly by that service — we store nothing on our own servers.

How long does my temporary address last?

Your address stays active as long as you keep the page open or your session is saved in your browser. Create a new address any time with the "New Email" button.

Can I send emails from a temporary address?

No. tempail.co is receive-only. It is designed for receiving verification emails, confirmations and signup links — not for sending mail.

Is it really anonymous?

You are never asked for a name, phone number or any personal information. However, mail delivery is handled by a third party (Mail.tm), so you should never use a temporary address for truly sensitive communication.

Can I receive attachments?

Yes. Messages with attachments are shown in the email view, and you can download each attachment with one click.

Is tempail.co free?

Yes. The service is completely free — there are no accounts, payments or ads.

Do you store my emails or my data?

No. We have no database. Your session (token, address and password) lives only in your browser’s LocalStorage, and your inbox is fetched live from Mail.tm each time. Close the session and everything is gone.

Is using tempail.co allowed?

Yes, for legitimate purposes: software testing, QA, verifying signup flows, and keeping spam out of your primary inbox. The service must not be used for spam, fraud, harassment, identity abuse, or any unlawful activity. Please read the Responsible Use Policy for details.
